Ideas from Florida:
Plant Wildflowers for Week of the Young Child! Early childhood programs in Okaloosa and Walton Counties will be attending a workshop where master gardeners and 4-H staff will be leading demonstrations on planting native wildflowers and where wildflower seeds will be distributed. Each will prepare spaces for the wildflowers at the individual early childhood programs and sow the seeds during Week of the Young Child. FLAEYC members are encouraged to plant native wildflower seeds all over the state…a “Natives Growing Natives” Project in support of NAEYC Week of the Young Child, Florida’s Children’s Week, and National Environmental Education Week www.eeweek.org which this year will be celebrated during April 11-17, 2010.
Central Florida AEYC is sponsoring a bus to take members to Tallahassee to participate in Children’s Week. They will spend the day visiting their local legislators and participating in the Children’s Week activities.
