This is a self-paced workshop. The workshop is estimated to take approximately 10 hours of reading and responding to the instructor’s assignments, plus any extra time you request individual help and discussion with the instructor.  Plus, you will be doing an art assignment that you probably are already doing with the children in your own classroom.  This art assignment is appropriate for children 2 to 8 years of age. In addition, you will have the opportunity to display the art work you and the children are doing by putting together an art Portfolio.

You will receive 2 CEUs or 20 inservice hours for this course.

 At the end of this workshop you will be able to:
    (1) encourage children to participate in creative art activities
    (2) set up and maintain a creative art environment
    (3) identify the knowledge teachers need to have about art forms and
         media, in order to further develop children’s art work.
    (4) expand an art activity into other areas of the classroom.
 
In this virtual online workshop you will be tutored by a professional early childhood educator on an individual basis through emails and chat rooms.  You never have to travel to attend a class.
