At-Large Board Member
Dear Members of the FLAEYC Board Selection Committee,
I am writing with great enthusiasm to formally express my interest in continuing my service on the FLAEYC Board of Directors for the 2026-2028 term. Reflecting on my contributions over the past two years, I am eager to further advance our shared mission and vision for the early childhood education community in Florida.
During my tenure, I had the privilege of serving on the Finance and Business Advisory Committee. This role has provided me with invaluable insights into the specific needs of our early childhood centers across the state. As a co-chair of the Business Advisory Committee, I initiated the inclusion of external members—specifically those in owner/director roles—to contribute their perspectives. This initiative led to the creation of the FLAEYC Business Chapter, a platform aimed at fostering relationships with businesses specializing in essential services such as insurance, legal support, accounting, marketing, and technology. Our objective is to streamline these services to better support the early childhood community.
My commitment to early childhood education is rooted in the belief that it thrives on reciprocal relationships, embracing diverse perspectives, cultures, and expertise to forge a stronger, more equitable organization. I am dedicated to FLAEYC’s mission of ensuring that all children and families have access to top-quality educators, programs, and environments.
Looking ahead, I am particularly excited about the potential to officially launch the Florida AEYC Business Chapter in 2026. I am confident that this new chapter will significantly contribute to our profession by enhancing operational efficiencies and fostering professional growth among our members.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue advocating for and supporting our early childhood professionals. I believe that with another term on the board, I can further contribute to our collective goals and make a lasting impact on the FLAEYC community.
Thank you very much for considering my application. I am looking forward to the possibility of continuing to serve the FLAEYC in this capacity.
Warm regards,
Sylvia De Armas, M.Ed.
