Meet the Flaeyc
When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Fred Rogers
Florida educators are true heroes and have helped our community during these challenging years. I decided to serve as FLAEYC president because its mission is aligned to supporting our early childhood workforce heroes. FLAEYC is dedicated to supporting children, families and those who serve them. We believe that equal access to high-quality childcare is at the foundation of success for children and families. A well-prepared and well-compensated early childhood workforce is a critical ingredient for that success. I have sat in the board for several years and have witnessed this mission in action.
I am excited to represent the organization in our continued quest to advocate for equitable access to quality childcare, increased compensation for teachers, and providing high-quality professional development for our teachers and program leaders. I am particularly excited to be the first Latina president in the organization’s 66 years. My goal is to ensure all voices are invited to the table and heard. Please know that you can always reach out to me.
We still have a bumpy road ahead, but I know that in community we can move mountains. You are part of this community. I invite you to join us and make FLAEYC the foundation of your personal and professional journey. Your voice matters. We want to hear you.
